This past couple of weeks I have been very busy juggling family time, my son’s hockey, work, university, training, and a some Lift and Grit content. If you’re wondering how I balance out each part of my life, the secret is drinking MJ’s Secret Stuff from Space Jam.
All jokes aside, when I have free time for myself, I love to get some reading done. After my school readings are out of the way, I have a stack of awesome books to get to.
I haven’t finished them all, but just by skimming through some my brain has already digested an overwhelming amount of good content. Here are my current food for thoughts in no particular order!
Science and Practice of Strength Training by Vladimir M. Zatsiorsky & William J. Kraemer
The Organized Mind – Thinking Straight in the Age of Information Overload by Daniel J. Levitin
Mindset – The New Psychology of Success by Carol S. Dweck
Olympic Weightlifting – A Complete Guide for Athletes and Coaches by Gregg Everett
Practical Applications in Sports Nutrition (3rd Edition) by Heather Hedrick Fink, Alan E. Mikesky, & Lisa A. Burgoon
Weightlifting Programming – A Winning Coach’s Guide by the legend Bob Takano
There are so many more books that I want to read but for now I’m currently occupied by these! To end it off, here’s one of my favorite quotes from Dr. Seuss: “The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.”
